Footprints and Tire Track

It is a childs delight to trample untrodden snow. Why? Is it a childish need to mess up the perfection of its smooth surface? Or is it perhaps just to be the first to walk there or maybe just to make a physical mark on the world.

The single wheel track intrigues. Was it made by two wheels, one perfectly following the other? Why is there no divergence as the vehicle turns to follow the contours of the road? Has the photographer edited out a second track made by a second pair of wheels? And if he did, perhaps he also made those footprints curve round just right to lead the viewers eye to the trees and the focal point of the image.
